After Willard Sorority’s 120th anniversary, and after 47 years in its current house on Madison Avenue, we took a look back at Willard’s move-in day, 1962.
How well I remember the day of this photo from Rush Week in fall 1962. Willards pictured from left to right are: Ginger Koon, Micki Engstrom, Bonnie Bryngelson, Sherry Cook, Carolyn Engler, Bobbi Clark, and Nancy Morton. I believe Carolyn Myers and I were backstage preparing to be cats in a skit.
I am one who was there, too. The year could have been 1962 (right after we moved into the “new” Willard House) or 1963. Didn’t we all wear black for the formal rush parties? Shown in this photo, left to right, are Ginger Koon (’65), Micki Engstrom, Bonnie Bryngelson, Sherry Cook, my roommate Carolyn Engler, Roberta Clark (all pledge sisters, class of ’64) and my pledge daughter, Nancy Morton (’65). Sadly, none of the Willard sisters shown here attended the 120th reunion, but the memories we shared were great!
The Willard sisters in the Mystery Photo are Ginger Koon, Micki Engstrom, Bonnie Bryngelson, Sherry Cook, Carolyn Engler, Arlene Jensen, and Nancy Morton. I was also one of the first Willards to live in the house. This picture is from the 1963 yearbook, but 1962-63 was my first year at 5110 Madison. My memories of Willard and Wesleyan and the house on Madison are all good ones!
