Off-Campus Study Opportunities > Capital Hill Internship Program

Discover American politics from the inside, through the Capitol Hill Internship Program, a new program designed to give students access to exciting internships in D.C. and to expose students to the inner working of the nation's capital. The Capitol Hill Internship Program provides students with a total Washington experience through an academically rigorous program with a focus on experiential learning.

As a Capitol Hill intern, you'll have unparalleled access to the power centers of Washington, D.C. Interns live in the heart of the city in the exclusive Capitol Hill neighborhood within view of the Supreme Court and within walking distance of the Smithsonian, the metro, and the House and Senate offices.

The program is public-affairs focused and provides a unique opportunity for students of any major to discover the role of government in fields including law, the media, health care, the arts and science.

You'll get an inside look at the way Washington works through a specially selected internship with a branch of the federal government or a government agency, a think tank, advocacy organization, media outlet, political party, or federal court.

Seminar classes taught by distinguished political science faculty and featuring guest speakers prominent in the D.C. community will give students insight into American politics and public policy, while providing a sound academic context for the internship experience.
