Open the door to a broad scope of career opportunities when you enroll in Nebraska Wesleyan's Department of Nursing. The field of nursing has expanded to offer additional challenges through areas of specialization, while the need for nurses across the country continues to rise.
You'll begin your nursing career by enrolling in Wesleyan's pre-nursing program. This curriculum includes courses in biology, chemistry, psychology and English, along with various general education requirements (courses taken by all graduates of Nebraska Wesleyan University). The curriculum prepares you to enter nursing programs, and all credits you earn at Nebraska Wesleyan also apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program.
Once you have completed requirements in a nursing program and become a licensed registered nurse, you can return to Nebraska Wesleyan to complete your B.S.N. degree. Designed to build upon your background as a registered nurse and in the liberal arts, the nursing program emphasizes research, community practice, management and health assessment. Because many of the students enrolled in the program are working professionals, courses are arranged so you can continue working while taking classes.
