Completing the requirements of the first-year schedule that follows will prepare you to enter a nursing program in which you can become an R.N. You'll need to apply to a school of nursing as early as possible. There are many options in Lincoln, including the Bryan School of Nursing and Southeast Community College-Lincoln.

After completing the pre-nursing requirements, you may choose to remain at Wesleyan to take additional general education courses for the B.S.N. program before transferring to a nursing school. Your Nebraska Wesleyan adviser will help you plan a program to complete a B.S.N. degree according to current requirements.

Master of Science in Nursing
Nebraska Wesleyan's Master of Science in Nursing Degree program, begun in the fall of 2000, gives you the option of continuing your education by pursuing an advanced nursing degree. The program's two tracks–one focuses on the nurse as educator and one on the nurse as leader, manager and entrepreneur–can pave the way for a career in nursing education, nursing management or business ownership. The program also prepares you for the challenges of modern nursing through its emphasis on transcultural nursing, ethics, research and the application of knowledge and skills in a practice setting.
Nebraska Wesleyan is recognized as one of the leaders in nursing education in the state of Nebraska, and the Master of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
