Nebraska Wesleyan offers pre–nursing courses for students who wish to benefit from our rich campus environment and excellent academic courses to prepare students to enroll in a basic nursing program through another school. Typically students enroll in required prerequisite courses such as psychology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, sociology and microbiology while at Nebraska Wesleyan. During the time period students complete their required courses for a basic nursing program they participate fully in campus life.
Pre–nursing students meet with an advisor in the nursing program who discusses the nursing school options available to students. Some students elect to attend community college registered nurse programs and then return to Nebraska Wesleyan to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Students who return to Nebraska Wesleyan after earning their registered nurse license are able to work full time and attend class one time per week to earn their degree.
