The Department of Modern Languages at Nebraska
Wesleyan University offers students the opportunity to study
French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Annually, thousands
of college students devote a semester or a year to studying
abroad; others participate in study tours offered by Nebraska
Wesleyan; still others devote free time to individual travel
overseas. Globalization has allowed students to take internships
in other countries and graduates to accept positions with
major international dimensions.
Studying a foreign language not only gives
students an edge in a competitive job market, but it also
enhances their global perspectives and prepares them for life
in an ever-shrinking world. Regardless of which language they
choose, students quickly realize the value of acquiring a
multilingual portfolio.
