An NWU Donor Fact

The Heritage Society

The Heritage Society, established by the Board of Governors on September 19, 1980, honors individuals who have made planned gifts to Nebraska Wesleyan University. Membership in The Heritage Society is open to individuals who make the following types of gifts:

  • Will bequest
  • Living trust
  • Charitable gift annuity
  • Charitable remainder trust
  • IRA, retirement plan assets
  • Personal residence or farm with retained life estate
  • Life insurance
  • Members of The Heritage Society are recognized through publication of their names in the President’s Annual Report. Members also receive an attractive lapel pin.

Planned gifts are a vital part of the financial support necessary for Nebraska Wesleyan University to maintain its excellence. The endowment, scholarship assistance, programming, faculty development, departmental projects and capital improvements are some of the ways in which planned gifts from alumni and friends are used to support the mission of Nebraska Wesleyan University – providing a liberal arts education in an environment of Christian concern that is dedicated to the intellectual and personal growth of each student.

The formal designation for wills, trusts, life income arrangements, and life insurance policies is: Nebraska Wesleyan University, a nonprofit corporation.

For more information about planned gifts, email Brenda McCrady, Director of Planned Giving, or call 402.465.2129.
